Making a healthy pancake for my toddler is a daily routine in our home. It’s important to me to begin my son’s day off with a variety of proteins and healthy fats. This is a 5-minute, easy-peasy way to do it!
Many of our days are on-the-go, and meal times can sometimes be rushed. Add onto that the fact that most snacks for kiddos these days are heavy on sugar and carbohydrates. I want to make sure my son’s day starts high in healthy fats and proteins so the nutrients of his day don’t sneak away from us.
Enter: Our healthy toddler pancake!
I’m also a big believer in the importance of balancing our blood sugar. Balancing blood sugar as an adult gives me good energy throughout my day and is a contributor to healthy, well-functioning hormones. Similarly, it is critical to me that my son’s energy is level (no energy spikes and major crashes) throughout the day.
As an aside, if you’re brand new to learning about blood sugar, check out this recipe and this interview to take a deep dive into how you can better balance your blood sugar with meals.
Enjoy!
