Q&A with Jess Bargenquast: Unlocking the Potential of Introverted Leadership

Jess Bargenquast is the founder of Lady ChangeMakers, an all-inclusive e-commerce platform for women-owned businesses. Jessica is an expert in creating exposure and driving traffic for e-commerce businesses. She launched Lady ChangeMakers in 2021 in an effort to create a central e-commerce hub for women-owned businesses – think Amazon, but all lady bosses. Today, she is focused on helping women grow their e-commerce businesses by educating them on exposure, SEO, and more.

TUNE IN TO THE FULL EPISODE HERE:

I had the opportunity to sit down with Jess and talk about all things introverted leadership and advice for those looking to start a business of their own.

Listen to the episode to get answers to some of these questions:

  1. Tell us about Lady Changemakers and who you serve?
  2. What advice do you have for young women wanting to start their own business with zero ideas of where to begin?
  3. What are some parts of your business growth journey that can encourage those seeking to start a business?
  4. What is leadership to you?
  5. When a lot of us think about what a leader looks like, oftentimes it’s someone with traits that are relatively extraverted (being decisive, being a social butterfly, being bold, confident, and unafraid). You, on the other hand, are actually very introverted and yet clearly a leader. Can you tell us about the journey you went on to embrace those parts about yourself and step into your leadership as an introvert?
  6. What other advice would you like to leave us with?

What I personally gleaned from this conversation was further confirmation that we do not need to be extroverts in order to make great leaders. Leadership can come in the form of the person who happens to be most comfortable sitting in the back of the room just listening and observing instead of being front and center. There is even power in many of the characteristics more common to an introverted person! Give it a listen and I hope you enjoy her story as much as I did!
