Q&A with Dr. Tanda Cook, ND: Giving You Permission to Dream

Dr. Tanda Cook, ND is a naturopathic physician, farmer, author of a cookbook, and a teacher of all things food, nutrition, sustainable farming, and natural medicine. She has a special talent of breaking down complex medical ideas into more easily understood terms, and shining a light on just how carefree a holistically lifestyle can truly be. I’ve learned so much just through her youtube videos and her weekly Tuesday Tip on Instagram, but she also offers an in depth online course as well.

I got to ask her some of my most burning questions about how we can control stress and how to best balance our blood sugar levels. We chatted about how stress can be a good influence in our lives, depending on how we handle it. From there, Dr. Cook gave great advice on how we can build up our capacity to handle stressors and difficulties in our lives.

She shared her ideal breakfast ideas with us and broke down the incredibly complex relationship between our gut health and our brains. I learned so much from this conversation and I hope you do too!

Some of my favorite takeaways from Dr. Cook were:

“The key to health is play. I’m giving you all permission to play in your laugh. laugh, do things that you love, and listen to your heart.”

“You were born with dreams.”

“The biggest thing I want to leave you with is permission to play, permission to dream, and permission to follow them.”

“Being a good leader means being in alignment. So, being a good leader means honoring your body. Being a good leader means honoring your health, because that all has a sound and it has a feel to other people that you’re leading. Nobody wants to follow somebody that’s out of alignment.”

“Taking care of yourself, taking care of your life, being intentional and honoring your health and your dreams? I want to follow that. That has magnetism. I’m drawn towards people that are movers and shakers that are walking the walk.”
