Q&A with Debbie Neal: How to Set Your Mind Up for Success

You are going to L-O-V-E these takeaways from my conversation on the podcast with Debbie Neal. I don’t think she has a negative bone in her body, but I also know that her positive attitude and infectious spirit has likely come with a lot of discipline and a lot of mental practice.

She has an extensive resume from being the director of training for CVS pharmacy to being extremely successful with her own global health & wellness business. She has four amazing children, an adorable dog named Tito (Follow him on Instagram @littleshotsoftito), she also has her own podcast, and she lives in New Jersey. Here are some of my favorite things from what she shared with us:

Mindset is everything. When I think of mindset, I think of “how am I setting my mind? How am I programming my mind?” The only thing we have 100% control over is our mind and our thoughts and our thinking and yet we allow so many outside factors, so many people … it’s like having people live in your head rent-free and decide things.

Our thoughts become our beliefs and our beliefs dictate our actions.

None of us were put on this earth to be average. We were born extraordinary. We were born limitless. We were born a complete blank slate.

If our mindset isn’t built every single day, it can’t carry us through when we need it the most.

Be the kind of influencer that moves people for good.

Who is the number one person you’re talking to every day? You! You can either talk to yourself or into yourself. The words you speak into yourself have the ability to (as a leader) have a positive impact on everybody else.

We have two options: We can own our day, or our day can own us. The difference is how we begin.

You are and you become what you think you are. It’s impossible to lead without loving who you are. That is where the journey comes from. Love is the most powerful force in the universe. Leadership is a gift and I believe we all have it in us to some degree, but in order to truly lead, we need to be coming from a  place of love and belief and vision.

Life is not about the glory. It’s about having the guts to do the things that would make others learn from you, be inspired by you, and want to follow you.
