Dominique Hendren on Parenting, Balance, and Motherhood

1 MIN READ

In this conversation, we have a very special guest: My mom!

We hear from her and her many years of tried and true experience on:

  • What success can look like as a parent
  • The importance of remembering delayed gratification
  • Leadership as a mother
  • The challenges of balancing work and family life.

LISTEN TO THE FULL EPISODE HERE:

She gives us practical tips from things she has learned along the way as someone who has run multiple businesses in her life time all while raising three children. One of my favorite takeaways was from her thoughts on how success is in the mundane. I think that applies not just to any family and parenting goals, but also just to life in general! Whether it is our job, our friendships, a hobby we hope to cultivate into something more, or any number of things, success comes from our time spent diligently working away on the seemingly mundane tasks that pay off over time.

As a sneak peak into other topics we covered, here are some of the questions I asked her.

  • What is the best part of being a mom?
  • What does success look like for you as a mom?
  • Why did you and Dad choose to have you work inside the home when you had us?
  • What was the greatest challenge for you juggling 3 kids in 3 different schools while running a full-time retail operation?
  • When you were parenting, what kept you up at night? Metaphorically?
  • How did you navigate the distraction of kids and difficulty focusing while still working and trying to get things done?
  • What do you think leadership as a mom looks like?
  • What advice do you have for anyone who is or is expecting to be a new mom?

I hope you enjoyed this episode as much as I did (Although given that she is my mom, probably not likely!! *Wink*).

As always, reach out and share your thoughts on this episode or any other.

The goal is to pour into YOU and your leadership, so I love hearing from you!
