Q&A with Jerry Roisentul: Daily Bookends, Limiting Beliefs & Mastering Mindset

In this Q&A with Jerry Roisentul, we’re learning about daily bookends, limiting beliefs, mastering mindset and more!

I first met Coach Jerry Roisentul when he did a training local to where my parents live. I got to attend his all day event, and go to dinner with him and his wife, so I saw both the professional and personal sides to him. I can honestly vouch for his transparency and exceptional care for others. You could be a perfect stranger to him, and he will still have room in his heart to really, truly care for you! How cool is that?!

But on a professional note, he also has quite the list of credentials: Jerry has been in the network marketing industry for 26 years, is a certified coach, speaker and trainer with the John Maxwell Team, and in 2011 he founded Coaching 4 Champions.

Coaching 4 Champions is where he channels his gift for coaching and motivating people to pursue their dreams in group and one on one settings.

He has taken this skill-set globally to train on all things mindset, leadership, and everything in between.

His background has hardships that have blessed his clients with a very unique empathy, and I think what I appreciate the most about Coach Jerry is the humility he brings to linking arms with individuals that inspires.

He and his wife, Gina, are an incredible partnership not just in life but also in this incredible business they have created and the way in which they serve others.

Some of my favorite takeaways from this Q&A with Jerry Roisentul on daily bookends, limiting beliefs and mastering mindset:

1. Every evening, he reflects on the day and asks himself: “What did I do right? What did I not do right? What do I need to change to get better tomorrow?”

And then, he asks himself: “What are the things I need to do tomorrow?” He pre-plans the next day the night before, so that he can wake up without the worry of feeling like the day is spinning out of control.

2. We choose what we focus on.

You and I have no control over who comes to the door of our house and asks to be let in, but we have total control over who we open the door to and let in our house.

The same is with our thought life and controlling the thoughts we open to the door of our minds to and let in.

3. Are you mastering mindset or is your mindset mastering you?

Jerry’s personal story is one that really begins years ago on the floor of his apartment, writing his son a note, ready to take his own life. It was there, in that moment of being at the absolute lowest point in his life that he realized:

“My mindset is mastering me.”

And from that pivotal turning-point, his testimony allows him now to pour into others struggling with doubt, depression, insecurity, and so much more to learn how to truly get control of our minds and the thoughts that we think.

4. A quote that he shared was: “Make the most of every day that you are given, because you never know how many more tomorrows you’re going to get.”

Jerry really tries his very best to live his life as close to that quote as possible, and I think all of us would see our lives change dramatically if we realized the power of the present moment.

Every day, he makes it a point to text five friends a word of encouragement expecting nothing in return. He just makes it a goal to let others know they are appreciated and being thought about.

“The greatest way to make your issues shrink,” he says, “is to focus on blessing someone else.”
