What Moms Really Want for Mother’s Day

What moms really want for Mother’s Day this year is something that shows intentional thought and effort geared towards showing her you appreciate her. You can fall within any price range, but you can’t wait until the last minute! Here are a few ideas of things moms really want for Mother’s Day in 2024.

Don’t forget: Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 12, 2024! Coming up!

Something Memorable – Upper Price Range

Memory and Birthweight Bears take a long time to make, so be sure you get on the waitlist! Even if you can’t get one in time for Mother’s Day, Stephanie makes incredible quilts and “Mama” sweatshirts that would make memorable gifts for any occasion.

A Sweet Experience – Lower Price Range

Plan a special brunch in advance! Make a grocery run to get the following:

  • Eggs (1 dozen or more depending on your family size!)
  • Fresh berries (2 cartons of raspberries and/or blueberries), apples (2), and bananas (2)
  • Ingredients to make your favorite pancakes. I’ll copy my favorite healthy protein pancake recipe below!
  • Bacon (1-2 packets of unsweetened, organic bacon)
  • Toast (Unbread is a great brand if you are looking for something gluten-free!)

Make sure you have enough butter (preferably grass-fed), ghee, honey, jam, maple syrup, or other toppings you might like, and let’s get cooking!

Start with the bacon. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees, lay your bacon flat on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper (less clean up!) and pop it in the oven while it’s still heating. Leave it in for 20 minutes or until crispy.

With the eggs, you make a big scrambled egg. I recommend beating the eggs in a separate bowl, adding 1/2-1 teaspoons of sea salt and a pinch of ground pepper, and then adding them to a cast iron skillet once you’ve already heated your oil (avocado oil, coconut oil, or reused bacon grease). Stir them frequently and then set aside until you’re ready to eat!

Toast your toast 🙂 This step is easy!

Mix all the pancake ingredients together in a mixing bowl and ladle the pancake mix out onto a griddle with oil already slightly preheated.

–> My favorite pancakes: 2 eggs, 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/4 cup coconut flour, 1/4 cup vanilla Arbonne protein powder Simply 1, 1/2 cup tapioca flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 pinch of salt, 2 TBSP of maple syrup, and up to 1/4 cup of almond milk to thin the batter out!

For the fruit salad, chop your apples and bananas into small pieces and mix them in a bowl with your pre-washed berries.

Serve everything together and make sure you do all the clean up so Mom doesn’t have to 🙂

A Night Out – Medium Price Range

Pick her favorite restaurant and make a reservation well in advance. Tell her she’s going out to get a break from the kitchen clean up!

For Something Cozy — Mid/Upper Price Range

If you want to give Mom something comfy and cozy this Mother’s Day, opt for a cute pair of pajamas of Lake Pajama’s Mother’s Day collection. They’ll last her forever and they come in all sorts of cute colors and patterns.

For Something Creative — Low to Upper Price Range

Rifle Paper Co has creative gifts for Mom ranging from stationary to cute pens and adorable coffee mugs. They have a Mother’s Day gift guide sorted by price. Check it out!

For Her Fitness Game – Mid Price Range

Give Mom a new, loose, comfy tank from Lululemon to inspire her next workout outfit. Workouts are always more fun with a cute outfit on!

For Her Home – Mid Price Range

Give Mom a nontoxic candle to make her home smell fresh without all the added chemicals of most candles on the market. Give her one or a set of four! I love Christmas Cheer (even in the summertime!) and Lemongrass-Eucalyptus.

For Her Sleep – Low Price Range

Give mom a quality sleep mask to help her get better quality sleep! These are so comfy and come in cute colors.

For Her Skin – Upper Price Range

Your mom’s skin deserves the very best. Give her a set with a reputation of quality, nontoxic but effective ingredients that will leave her skin feeling and looking even better than before. Arbonne has been crafting pure skincare since 1980, so I trust their formulations implicitly and this is the set I personally use! If she doesn’t like it, there is a 90-day return policy, but I’m pretty confident she will fall in love!

For Her Decor – Lower Price Range

Give your mom a personalized calendar with all her favorite people in it. I’ve used Artifact Uprising before and can’t say enough good things about the quality of their products.

For Her Busy Mornings – Upper Price Range

This blender is the best and also is on sale if you have a Costco membership. If your mom is busy and on-the-go in the mornings, give her a blender to make her breakfast protein shakes and smoothies even better.

For Her Sweet Tooth – Lower Price Range

Daydream chocolates makes vegan and gluten-free truffles shipped directly to your door! I will preface this suggestion by saying your mom will probably only like these if she is already on the healthier side. These are not super sweet and they taste nothing like your typical chocolates, but they are very much a healthier version compared to anything else!

For Her Sentimental Side – Lower Price Range

Write your mom a heartfelt card telling her everything she means to you. More likely than not, she will cherish this for years to come!

No matter what you give your mom for Mother’s Day this year, just remember:

  • Plan an experience or give her a gift in advance! This will make such a difference in making her feel special.
  • Focus on her for the day and making her feel appreciated for everything she does.
  • And have fun!
